The auto-sizing released in Automatically size background images will hopefully be correct. But when it isn’t, you’ve gotta do it manually.
I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about aligning background images at this point, and during that time I came up with an alternative interface for resizing.
I’ve implemented the basic concept and released it to the testing server. As you can see the interface isn’t yet Shmeppy-stylized, but it works well. First, a demo:
When you double click on an image with the background image tool, this popup will appear. When you modify the size using it, the point in the background image that the little triangle points at will remain fixed. This makes is much easier to see how well the alignment is without going back and forth between sizing and nudging.
Please let me know how it goes if you play around with it.
Happy Shmepping ya’ll!
