Hello there,
I have been using Shmeppy for my tabletop RPG campaigns; and it is been a fantastic tool for creating and managing maps on the fly. Although; I have recently run into some challenges when working with larger maps; especially when there are multiple layers and complex structures involved. I am hoping to get some advice from the community on how to manage these large maps more effectively.
I have been creating maps that are quite large, with multiple zones and intricate details.
I often need to switch between different layers for various parts of the game; which can get confusing and time-consuming.
Occasionally, I have noticed some performance issues when dealing with these bigger maps; particularly when adding or moving elements around quickly.
I have been trying to keep my layers organized by naming them clearly and grouping similar elements together, but it’s still challenging to keep track of everything.
I frequently zoom in and out and pan around the map; but I wonder if there are more efficient ways to navigate larger maps.
I have started reducing the number of elements I use; but I do not want to sacrifice too much detail.
How do you manage large maps efficiently? Are there any specific techniques or tools within Shmeppy that help streamline the process?
Also, I have gone through this post; https://forum.shmeppy.com/t/the-three-traits-of-shmeppys-design-mlops/ which definitely helped me out a lot.
Thanks in advance for your help and assistance.
